What was your random act of kindness today?
Submitted by Cher Cabula.
I saw a cute little girl from church at Walmart today. She was with her mother. This little beauty has a difficult life in some respects...single mom, but oh so loved by her extended family. SB was wearing her swimsuit and cover-up. It turns out that she had just come from practice with her swim team. Who knew that 7 year olds had swim teams?! She has a swim meet this week, and I told her to find me at church the next time we're there, so she can tell me how she did because I really want to know! Her whole face lit up. Such a simple thing, and I really do want to know how she does at the meet. Her reaction was the best!
What are your first thoughts upon waking?

What are some of the best(and worst) things about summer?
Submitted by L33tchica.
best--vacation from school.
worst--heat, humidity and biting bugs
What's on your "To-Do" list today? What are you most looking forward to and what are you most dreading?
My to-do list includes taking my children and the nieces who live here in town to the Discovery Center in Boise. It is a children's hands-on science museum. It's a lot of fun, and one of our favorite children's museums in the US that we've been to. Our absolute favorite is in Birmingham, AL and the best small museum is in Florence, AL.
Later on, it's a cook-out at my brother's house and my kids and I are taking the ice cream to go along with our parents' anniversary cake (56 years!).
Most dreaded: nothing really, except that in all this activity I could really use a nap. Luci's not sleeping well.
Who was the meanest teacher you had in school?
Miss Payne! I kid you not, that was her name. She got married in the Spring of that year and her new name was Mrs. Disbrow. But she was still a Payne to her class. That was the horrible year in Mtn. Home, when Dad was in training before his trip overseas. Nothing from that year was good.
Who helped make you the cool person you are today?
Submitted by Amy - Sister Brown Hair Surprise.
Air conditioning.
How are you spending this Memorial Day? How will it differ from Memorial Days past?
We spent today together. The boys worked in the yard with John, and Luci and I went shopping for a few groceries. We had our first watermelon of the year. We had a nice time together today...most of the time, the kids got along splendidly. John packed up for his next military trip, and we paused for a few moments of quiet to remember those who gave their all for us. We are so thankful that all those in our immediate families have come home safe from the conflicts in which they have fought.
What do you daydream about? Is it something far-fetched, or something that might actually happen?
Submitted by lost_in_eternity2207.
Besides being built more like a Barbie than a bar-be-cue grill (which is in the far-fetched category), the things I dream about are being able to sew whenever I'd like, having boys who are happy to do lessons (or at least the younger boy quit complaining!), and a tidy house. Those last 3 are within the realm of possibility.
How many pair of shoes do you have? Out of those pairs, how many do you wear more than a few times a year?
Submitted by fightinggale.
Five pairs. I wear four pairs regularly (and that includes the ugly pink clogs I wear to go outside and garden).
Has anyone ever done something so horrible to you that "I'm sorry" couldn't fix it?
Yes. The trust is broken and I won't ever trust that person again with my or my children's safety. But, at the same time, that person has been forgiven.
